Day 37: Phone by Nick

Think about the last time you used a pay phone. It's one of those memories that one day is going to make us old timers the same as remembering life without internet or walkmen. Obsolete things have always fascinated me especially now that some of them are part of my history.

I know this is a day late but seeing as no one has posted for birthday yet I figured I'd sneak in.

Day 37: Phone by H

This is my phone. He is Hrothgar, son of Havelock and twin brother of Malach. As modelled by the Goblin King. "Nothing? Nothing? tra, la, la!"

Day 36: Phone by Taylor

This is my phone. That is me posing in front of a light house. It is very much so a romance novel cover. I do not have a good reason as to why it is on my phone. I blame Becca mostly.

Day 37: Phone by Em

This is our phone. It is the only phone we have downstairs. It sits quietly in the dining room looking like a regular, everyday, usable phone. When it rings, however, I rush upstairs as quickly as possible, jumping over both the gate to keep the baby from climbing the stairs and the gate to keep the dog out of the room with the kitty litter to answer the phone in the upstairs office. Why? Because, when I answer this phone, you can hear me and I sound like this: "Hello? Hello? Hellllooooo? Is anybody there? Anybody? Hello?"

Apparently, the microphone is broken. At least the answering machine still works so I know you called if I can't make it upstairs in time!

Day 37: Phone by Nikki

I have had this phone since I was in my early teens, and back then I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Currently, it is residing it our "going to Goodwill" box, so I thought I would document it in all its clear plastic glory. It also has the most annoying ring I have ever heard.

Day 37: Phone by J.

I paid $212.00 for this phone. It's a prop from The Royal Tenenbaums. You can see it on the far left corner of the screen. Gwyneth Paltrow is walking over to put it on her leg for a few seconds (not why I bought it, but always a plus), then Ben Stiller comes over to slam it down.

I managed to catch a Disney eBay auction for a ton of the props from the movie in December 2001. I couldn't afford some of the really cool things like Margot's TV or Royal's tombstone, but I was really happy to get the phone.

I used to have a pretty big phone collection. I had a couple rotary phones, some donut phones, and princess phones. I stopped collecting them once they took up too much space and started to become obsolete. I kept a couple but they are stored away some where with all my other crazy collections. This phone came with the house. It isn't hooked up. We just liked it because it is a fake rotary phone. It is in an odd place between the door and the fridge.
