Day 36: Leaf by J.

I took an awesome leaf picture. Unfortunately it was like 3 weeks ago (damn rules, Taylor...) so I'm not going to post it, but you can see it here.

As for today's photo. We are super poor for the next few weeks. It's a combination of the education system's summer pay schedule (one lump amount in June) and me buying too much stuff (board games, large vinyl toys). So I've resorted to eating toast and butter for each meal and CC is now drinking whatever water she can get from the leaves. At least she found a big one.

One of our favorite movies is Bottle Rocket. In the movie there is a part where Owen Wilson's character says "It's a leaf." Anytime I hear the word "leaf", I quote this line.

Day 36: Leaf, by Jasmine

As a kid, when I would read my Nancy Drew books and guess the outcome, I'd always leaf through the pages at the end and scan to make sure I was right. I'm ok with spoiler alerts sometimes.

Day 35: Secret by Nikki

Secret Gnome is watching you.

Day 35: Secret by H

This remote controlled R2-D2 is from 1978. By the tame he came into my service (circa 1987) his wheels no longer turned, so the was no point in putting batteries inside him. Flash forward a few years (not as many as you might think) and I needed some secret place to stash several varieties of contraband. R2 came in very handy. Our secret okay? (Mum you don't read this blog do you?)

Day 35: Secret by Taylor

Here I am, outside your house, and you don't know it....Awkward.

We're in Bloomington IN for another 6 hours before we leave for Chicago. awesome.

Day 35: Secret by Missy

Day 35: Secret by J.

My brother George was kind enough to pose for me, the result reminded me of an ad for Gossip Gator.

Day 34: Pepper by H

I'm sorry. I know that the blog has already moved on to 'secret' and I am setting a dangerous precedent winding it back, but I just had to set the record straight. There. That's better - now I can sleep the sleep of the just. :)

Day 35: Secret by CC

Day 35: Secret, by Jasmine

Just the typical way one would spread a secret. And they usually start with the word "she", so that's what I'm in the middle of saying here.

P.S. You can click on any of my pictures for their bigger version!

Day 35: Secret by Nick

My friends Katie and Shonda were kind enough to pose for me, the result reminded me of an ad for Gossip Girl. There was only enough time for a handful of shots but they both got into character and were troopers.

Day 34: Pepper, by Jasmine

Look at me, already failing at posting everyday!

Anywho, this might be stretching it, but it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the category (that, and Pepper Potts from Iron Man); I hate taking pictures of myself in black and white because my freckles just make it look like I'm covered in pepper.

Day 34: Pepper by Nick

So... this is a close up of a pepper shaker. My manager, Anthony, didn't quite know what I was doing taking pictures at 3:30 in the morning but then again it's not the first time I've made my co-workers scratch their heads.

Day 34: Pepper by Taylor

This is me eating a pepper. My original photo had me grinding pepper from the grinder in Beccas photo into my mouth, but it wasn't really working out. Its kind of like a sarlac pit, but much more sexy.

On a different note, Becca and I are off in the morning to Indianapolis/Chicago for a whirlwind trip of wedding planning as we are only 29 days from it. Becca posted a bit about it at www.togetherwithoutamap.com if you want to feel as if you are right there with us. And with that, we'll see if we can post some photos for the next few days.

Day 34: Pepper by Becca

Mmmm...pepper. I like peppers! Since we won't be around this weekend our fridge is bear, so sadly no peppers. But I do like ground peppercorn...mmmm as well!

Day 34: Pepper by Em

I went out for Mexican with the girls tonight and I took my camera. I often order chili relleno, which is a pepper so I thought it would be fun to photograph my dinner. As it turned out, I got there and was in the mood for pollo rojo mole (or something) so, no pepper. This one is from my fridge. I sliced it and then Photoshop and I had some fun!

Day 34: Pepper by J.

I also love peppers. Taco Bell's Volcano Nachos (minus the beef) are like the best thing ever. Unfortunately I wasn't even hungry when we ordered some earlier, but I was able to get a photo... and also torture CC for about 5 minutes trying to get the right light with my iPhone camera.

I do love peppers. I like them hot, sweet, green, whatever. They are the first veggie I will eat off of a tray.

Day 33: Happy by Nikki

During a particularly bad day in college, a group of us got the bright idea to take my collection of magazines and turn some extra shoeboxes (we had a LOT of those) into boxes of things that made us happy. I found mine last week. This is it. Inside is a collection of things, including letters of recommendation, ribbons from costume parties, wine corks, a letter from a purple rum monkey, and a banner from the New England Patriots division win...some year. I can't remember which. Some of the stuff now seems pretty random, but some of it truly brought a smile to my face again.
Happy.

Day 33: Happy by H

Lizbt made a big pot of chicken vegetable soup. This is it divided into 8 equal parts, each part of which is approximately 302 calories. Why is one portion in a bowl and the others in plastic containers you may ask? Well, that is because I am going to eat the portion in the bowl with crusty white bread as soon as I have finished this post. And THAT makes me very happy indeed.

Day 33: Happy by Nick

Now that I'm establishing myself as the biggest lush on the blog, this is happy hour at the bar I live above, Brewers Towne Tavern "Where Friends Meet." It was clearly an uneventful one but the six or so people at the bar were very curious why I was setting up a tripod and checking my exposure.

Day 33: Happy by Taylor

New England is not known for its food. In fact, I don't really know what New England is known for. I know it has psychotically obsessed football fans for a so-so team, terrible roads, weird-ass liquor laws, and the fire at a Whitesnake concert. So, to find food that I actually enjoy from back home is great. To find it and have it well made is what makes me happy though. This gyro is from a local place in town. there are another 5 or so that also sell gyro, but not a one of them is any good as their meat comes pre-cut and frozen. this came right off the spit. Aside from this, there really isn't anything worth eating in New England. And, in case you are wondering, the Unos that you will find at every mall is not like the Unos from back home - do not eat it.

Day 33: Happy by Becca

This is Monkey.

Monkey has 2 friends Little Monkey and Bunny. Monkey has lived with Becca since 1999 when he was adopted out of the claw machine game at Willi Bowl. He originally had a soccer ball that he held, but he has since given it up to take care of his friends.

I was never one to have a favorite stuffed animal, and never really slept with them growing up (I didn't want them to be jealous of each other). But now, Monkey sleeps with me every night and travels most everywhere overnight with me. Monkey makes me happy.

Day 33: Happy, by Jasmine

Feeding time is the happiest time for Jack and Agnes. And they eat so fast, it's just a whirl of fur until they're licking their chops all around the house.

(I tried to get in here for the introduction post (or at least the almost post so it could've been that I was almost here for introductions!), but I was too shy to ask until now. I'm Jasmine, I like cats and food and Ron Weasley.)

Day 33: Happy by J.

This is the happiest person I've ever seen.

I instantly thought of a Lego man when I saw this theme. Also, Lego sets make me super happy. I love putting together a new set. I should finish the Sandcrawler from a few months ago, or the super sized Yoda from a few years ago..

Day 33: Happy by CC

DSC01147

When I think of the word happy, I think bright and fun. If I want to get happy, there are a couple easy fixes for me. I put 4 in this picture: my ipod (for Ricky Gervais Podcasts), my sticker collection, chocolate (even though I prefer peanut M&Ms), and buying my man toys....especially Dunnys.

Day 32: Happy by Missy

happy

trigger-happy~ 1.having a tendency or desire to shoot a firearm before adequately identifying the target... or, 2. marked by extreme intensity of emotions or convictions; inclined to react violently; fervid; "fierce loyalty"; "in a tearing rage"; "vehement dislike"; "violent passions"...

Day 32: Almost by Heath

I almost understand this sign. Is honey some way associated with New Years Eve? Maybe it is and you will all make fun of me. (I also almost forgot to post today. True story.)

Day 32: Almost by Em

Sierra is almost able to get on the couch by herself. She's just not. quite. tall. enough. (Yet) She reaches and tries to haul herself up, stands up as high as she can on her toe. Then she will turn to me (or other nearby adult) and sign "up." Ah, well, can't say she's not determined.

Day 32: Almost by J.

I'm almost finished this sweet puzzle...

Day 32: Almost by Taylor

You were not here for the photo shoot on this one, but it almost became how we almost finished the bottle of wine trying to do this. Trying to time it so that the wine is almost at the bottom of the glass with a point and shoot is tough. Also, our fridge needs a matte finish for future shoots, don't know how Pete (our landlord) will take to priming one side of the fridge.

Time to finish the almost bottle.

Day 32: Almost by Becca

So, at work they have been doing some construction outside of our building to lay down new steam lines (our building is in the background...and the walkway is just behind the backhoe).

We were told it would take about a week and only take up 4 parking spaces. To bring the kids out on grounds, we have to work our way through these heavy machines...man are we teaching these kids life skills or what?

Three weeks later and only access to one of our parking lots (and down about 20 spaces) they are almost done! We think so anyway.

Day 32: Almost by Krest

just a few more parts and a dozen or so screws, call it an organized mess. welcome to my job.

Day 32: Almost by Nick

Every other Tuesday at my bar we have inventory where we alphabetically line up all 200 or so bottles of liquor to be measured. It's a dreaded process for it's tedium and how it exposes the lack of thorough cleaning we do the rest of the week. We are never as scrutinized as closely as on this night and consequently get out the latest with less trust from our managers than we had when we came in.

My photo is of an almost empty bottle of Beefeater Gin. If a drop of liquor is wasted it draws a understandable amount of ire from our bosses.

Day 31: Introduction by Taylor

I know, I am a terrible terrible person, breaking the rules that I set for the blog by posting my photo for yesterday today and out of order. I also thought of double posting for Almost as well, but I won't. I'll just break more rules.

My name is Mike, Taylor is my last name. I currently live in New Hampshire, but am originally from Northern Illinois (just south of Chicago to be specific). Though I have not lived there for over 10 years, I still refer to the Chicago area as home (denial? who knows).

I am engaged to Becca, who also posts here, and we are getting married in a month and a day 1500 miles away from where either of us live in Indiana, which is where we met. You can find out more about our wedding and all things involved with it at our poorly updated co-blog Together Without A Map. I work at a local YMCA as the after school and camps director, and have working in youth sevices pretty much my entire professional career.

I collect things, usually toys, and like to play games, especially board games and rpgs. I'm currently fighting crime in Gotham, so I've been busy.

I either know or have met many of the folk that post here in some capacity or another. I know Luke, J, and Suzanne through our work on the Tunnel Project, amongst other unsavoury events.

Day 31/32: Introduction/almost by Luke

(I guess I technically missed this but I almost got it in on time. HEY! Now it is my photo for both days thanks to wordplay/trickery/laziness).

I'm 33 and I write/direct/design theatre. I also dabble in comics. I have a blog where I pimp everything to death. I have freelanced and worked in the arts industry but now I work in a school library which actually gives me far more freedom and spending moneyz. I have a new show coming up in October. I'm touring it next year. I am insecure and frightened of everything. I want to win a lot of money fighting a gorilla in a boxing ring.

I'm here because I owe Mike money.

Day 31: Introduction by H

Hi all, pleased to meet you. The H stands for Heath. I live in Melbourne, Australia with my life-partner/muse/proof-reader Lizbt. I ended up on this blog through Luke, with whom I attended university back in the late 90's, performing in a couple of his shows. Also we were once in the same show - I think he played an Irish priest and I was an innkeeper from the West Country. Is that right, Luke? (It was the 17th century, I forget details.)
I am an actor, director, and more recently an unpublished novelist. Occasionally I even get paid. I also do and have done all manner of other jobs for money. These have ranged from quite enjoyable - like tour guide, usher, box office - to the craptacular - like I once spent a day emptying shipping containers in 40 degree heat. (That's 109 fahrenheit for those in the US.) I am not yet 30, but it looms uncomfortably close.I've really been enjoying contributing to this blog. Also - I really like chillies.

Day 31: Introduction by Em

Sometimes when I introduce myself I have to follow up with "You know? Short for Emily?" Seriously, is "Em" really that difficult to understand?! In this picture I am wearing makeup! And earings! And I styled my hair! Do not get used to it. It happens maybe once every couple months. But we were headed out to the opening faculty party tonight so you get to see me all spiffied up.

Speaking of the faculty party, I live at a high school. An all boys boarding school. I have been married to J (not the J on this blog!) since 2003; our daughter Sierra is nearly 15 months old. She is probably the main subject of my blog. I will be 30 in October. I do not find that nearly as traumatizing as I thought it would be when I was 23. Of those nearly 30 years, I have spent more than 18 living in Illinois, followed by 6 in Missouri, then 4 in Connecticut, and now this last year in Virginia.

I run. Not away from the cops or to catch the bus, but because I actually enjoy it. In recent years I have added some swimming and cycling before the running and do triathlons. I am an environmental educator. I have a Masters degree in Botany. But my current boss is the above metioned 15-month-old. She is a very demanding boss. Sometimes I'm okay with being a "domestic engineer" but sometimes it drives me completely batty. I have two dogs and two cats. I like red wine and dark chocolate. I am here on ASAOTC because I know Mike. I know Mike because Mike knows Kate. I know Kate because she and her love found us (me, J, two dogs) in the woods in the White Mountains in 2005. She seduced me with red wine.

Day 31: Introduction by J.

I'm J. Tagmire. CC and Elle are my family. We live in New Jersey and we do all kinds of fun stuff. I work at a law office by day and fill my nights with way too many projects.

Currently working on a bunch of card/board games (friends on this blog helped with a game last year called Pixel Lincoln) and also running the arts venue The Loft (at The Auction House). That's where my picture was taken tonight. Huge thanks to the Gentlemen's Rotary Auxiliary for hanging around in their old-timey outfits for this picture.

Day 31: Introduction by Becca

Hi, my name is Becca. I am 29 years old. I currently live in Manchester, NH with my (soon to be) husband Mike. We have lived here since 2004. Prior to that we lived in Indiana, and worked at Indiana University's Outdoor Center, Bradford Woods.

I am a Licensed Recreation Therapist and spend my day at New Hampshire's state psychiatric hospital working with children ages 4-14. I get to play, run around and act goofy for a living...I really do enjoy my job.

I have always been the competitive type, I have played soccer throughout my life, but finally it got too hard on my joints in college...and I was devastated! About 4 years ago, I started playing Ultimate Frisbee. I play on a local co-ed in the BUDA League called the Granite State Grass Stains. We play pretty much all year round...outdoors and indoors. It has been wonderful!

Day 31: Introduction by Nikki

My name is Nikki (or Nicole, if you are family or co-worker) and I am posing here with my cat because she follows me pretty much everywhere. As of October, I will have been married for one year. I have been at my company for almost nine years, and during that time both my position and my physical location have changed multiple times. I collect books. I have kept many of my childhood stuffed animals. I love football. I am a huge talker, and a writer because writing lets me talk on paper. Recently I realized that photography lets me talk with pictures, and so I'm pretty into that too.

Day 31: Introduction by Missy

self

my name is melissa may... i was named after the song 'sweet melissa'... my parents were hippies... i am not a hippie... i'm 34 years young... i will be married 12 years in october... i have two daughters~ starla age 11, iris age 9... i am a housewife on the brink of something big... i am obsessed with music... i would choose immortality as my super power, with flight a super close second... i drink at least 4 cups of tea a day... i worship the sun... i have a tattoo on my ribs... i collect paper... i plan on having my cat stuffed when he passes... i love the smell of dirt... i talk out loud to the flowers in my garden... my hair is rarely one color... i love to eat... i talk too much... i hate to take a shower... love means more to me than anything in the world..........
omg!!?? am i a hippie?!?!?!

Day 31: Introduction by Nick

I'm very new to ASAOTC though I have been jealous of Missy, J., and Carolyn when they talked about it, too shy to insist on an invitation. Donkey Kong is one of my primary time wasters and I've been known to spend five or six hours at a time playing it with an iPod on, beer in one hand and Cigarette in the other. My co-workers where I bartend have called me the "Lovable Grouch", "Mr. Grumpy Cheeks" and the "most disgruntled" bartender they know. If you ask the people who know me best I hope they would think of me as a little more relaxed.

Day 31: Introduction by CC

DSC01073

If I am right, I am supposed to be introducing myself.  Well, my name is CC.  I am married to J.  We live in New Jersey.  (Yay!)  I am going to be 30 in January.  I am a high school Biology teacher. (I go back tomorrow, blah.) I love science and teaching, but my job doesn't really define who I am most of the time.  I don't have apples all over the house or talk about my philosophies of teaching.  I do my job well and have fun doing it.  I really love music.  I like to collect many things.  Our house is pretty packed with toys.  I have many collections, but my two favorite are my E.T. collection and my vintage scratch and sniff sticker collection.  I love Hello Kitty. (If it comes with Hello Kitty on it, I prefer it) I have already mentioned my daughter Elle on here.  She is going to be 2 in November and she's awesome.  I have only been doing it for a little over a month, but I also have a blog....www.taggywaggy.wordpress.com. (Of course, this was inspired by Luke and Suzanne)

Day 30: Carve by H

Do you 'carve' snow? Or is it more 'sculpting'? Either way, this is not what you expect to see in the middle of the city one morning. But see it I did, and photographed it just after that.
