Day 180: Rose by Missy

arose

(wow.)
'how did it happen that their lips came together? how does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, than the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of the trees on the quivering summit of the hill? a kiss, and all was said.'

Day 179: Beer by Missy

beer

the only beer i drink is root beer...
the other day i heard the most fantastic tale from a friend of a friend who was accounting the moment he realized
what his favorite color was...
after a phillies game, as a child, this dude was treated to a root beer... as he held his drink, which was served in a frosted mug, up to the sunlight, glorious golds and bronzes shimmered abundantly through the glass... and at that moment the boy knew that his favorite color would forever be amber,
the color of the sun through root beer...
pretty amazing, right?

Day 156: Portrait by Taylor

Didn't really have a hard time with this one, but neither Becca or I were feeling very portraity last night, though we had a few ideas. Instead, went with the cat tucked into the blanket because he is cold and sleepy. was playing with a black and white version too, but liked this one better.

Day 155: Fake by Taylor

In celebration of yesterdays Doctor, Becca and I went out and picked up a game called Chrononauts where you play a time agent traveling through time changing history (sound familiar?) In the game, theres several Mona Lisa cards, only one of which is the real thing. This is an obvious forgery (obviously).

Originally going to post a photo of this sweet Van Gogh I picked up for cheap, but this seemed more current and classy.

UPDATE - ASAOTC 2010 Calendar

Ok, so for whatever reason, the calendar widget that we have been using on the right side here has stopped working. I've tried removing and readding, setting up new calendars, etc and it just does not want to work. I am hoping to have it back up soon because it was a great bit to be able to see the upcoming days without having to leave the page.

In the meantime, there is a direct link to the calendar at the top of the list in the "places to go" section on the right, under the "Followers" section. Sorry for the inconvenience. Alternate suggestions are welcome as to what would make this work well.

Day 154: Doctor by Taylor

I've been pretty crazy about Doctor Who of late, specifically the new series. Last night, End of Time aired in the UK, which marked the departure of David Tennant as the Doctor, and the introduction of Matt Smith as the Doctor. Still not sure how I feel about it, but previews of the new season get me excited for the 11th Doctor. It airs in the US tonight at 8:30 est on BBC America for those interested.

Day 153: Bed by Taylor

Bed is great. Unfortunately, I don't sleep much. But when I do, this bed rules.

Day 152: Celebration by Missy

this is how i celebrated the end of 2k9 and the start of 2k10... except this time i was puking my guts up with a stomach virus...

Day 151: Ewok by Missy

another photo of my cat...

ASAOTC 2010 - Please Stand By

Apologies to all (for many reasons). Here we are in a new year and the new calendar is nowhere to be seen. And for that matter, the calendar widget is nowhere to be seen (I really don't know why that happened). No excuses here, the list was not done. Will be doing it now and posting. will make sure that todays is something on the straight forward side.

Needless to say, more than just me have been slacking when it comes to their dailies (I think I clocked in 2 for December). With a new year its time for a new push to all who have been involved to get up and get out and get taking, even if its with your phone. I'm not one for resolutions, but I do want to push for all to get back involved with ASAOTC, as the involvement and community involvement really makes it work and encourages all to be involved.

Love you.
