Day 5: Structure by Taylor

There are two Frank Lloyd Wright houses within walking distance of where we live in Manchester, The Zimmerman House (pictured above) is maintained by the Currier Museum of Art and regularly gives tours. If you are not on the tour, you can still walk around the outside and take photos of the house. Unless you go when they are having a private party, which is when I went tonight. Pulling in to the driveway, I immediately had two people walk right up to me and ask if they can help me, and directed me to leave right away. I asked if I could take a couple of photos though from the drive, and I was told that I could be held liable (of what I don't know), but I was able to take some from the street without any sort of legal ramifications. Unfortunately, it doesn't let you get as good of shots as you might have had you been allowed to step on the grass.

I've been trying to figure out what to do with all of my Mighty Muggs boxes for a while now. I've opened them all up and the figures are all displayed in various parts of my house. But I can't seem to part with the boxes. The art is very cool, and consistent. I think the photo solved my problem... and now that I have it, I can finally trash them. Maybe.

Day 5: Structure by H

The greenhouse in my local botanic gardens has seen some damage recently. When I hear the noises of revellers outside my front window of an evening, I'm sometimes surprised there is so much intact glass in my neighbourhood.

As a biology teacher, I use this word a lot. Most of my students never quite get it though. I always compare the cells of a plant to a brick wall. Since I don't have access to any real cells, which are the basic units of STRUCTURE and function in an organism, I took this.

bridges are structures i don't understand... when i really look at them, i am simply amazed that they stand to begin with, & for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years!? right?! i'm also floored that people trust them the way that they do... i personally don't and hate crossing water by way of bridge...

I hate this building. Every other building on the street is in the realm of 150 years old and the little brick bunker underneath is heritage listed, so they cant hurt it. So they build this horrendous thing on stilts over the top of it. But from a structural point of view - it was pretty amazing watching them put the Mothership together.

Day 5: Structure by Luke

Got permission to sneak down to the school biology lab today to take a quick picture. That place creeps me out.

You can see the other thing I shot on my blog here.
