Day 36: Leaf by Em

The leaves on the tulip tree in our yard have been falling off since the beginning of August. This does not, so much, make me think that it is time for the change of the season, but rather, that the tree is having some sort of physiological struggle.

Wasn't sure I was gonna make it today as I spent most of the day horizontal, praying for death. After my father gave me some of his migraine medicine that made my legs hurt I managed to snap this on his fridge. It's an art project made by my brother Andrew called the "Tree of Thanks."

Look at the vein structure to this fake leaf. Notice how intricate it is and how the texture of its weave stands out in its native habitat amongst the fake grass. This will surely be a treat from some lucky fake rabbit.

Day 36: Leaf by H

What you see is what you get.

Day 36: Leaf by Nikki

This is a copper rose with it's own copper leaf. Once upon a time, it actually smelled like a rose too.

I took an awesome leaf picture. Unfortunately it was like 3 weeks ago (damn rules, Taylor...) so I'm not going to post it, but you can see it here.

As for today's photo. We are super poor for the next few weeks. It's a combination of the education system's summer pay schedule (one lump amount in June) and me buying too much stuff (board games, large vinyl toys). So I've resorted to eating toast and butter for each meal and CC is now drinking whatever water she can get from the leaves. At least she found a big one.

Larger version.

One of our favorite movies is Bottle Rocket. In the movie there is a part where Owen Wilson's character says "It's a leaf." Anytime I hear the word "leaf", I quote this line.
