today is the last day... a whole year. 365 photos. i'm sad this is ending... i'm a little scared... i'm a bit relieved... i'm proud... i'm feeling a whole slew of emotions about this last post, that i admit, coincide with what i'm going through in my personal life right now...
i thought about the word last today... you can be the last one in line, you could be busy with your last bit of work for the day, you may have one last errand to run, you may be on the last page of your favorite series book... the word last implies 'an end'...
BUT!
the word last also can mean 'to go on'... this ship was built to last, a lasting relationship, he made a lasting impression...
one word meaning almost two completely different things...
and so today is the last photo... the end... but for me, this journey has had a lasting effect on my life, for sure... i can look back on every photo for each day and remember something about that day...
day 1: garden.... i remember being so excited about the blog and 'getting in' to post my photo... i remember that it poured down rain, thundering and lightning, seconds after i snapped my shot...
day 9: song.... i remember being horrifically sad and getting water ice that night...
day 141: raider.... i came home late that night from a christmas show... i wore a red dress with jeans and went out with weird bed head...
day 273: rope.... i went to a bridal shower that day... in a convertible... i wore my favie anthropologie dress... i came home and changed into gold leggins and a cat shirt and took this photo of the rope ladder in my yard... it was one of the first days i felt like i may actually be good at this 'photography thing'...
this last year has taught me so much... helped me think on so much... & although the 365 days are over, i don't feel like this is the end... it's just the beginning for me... & not the beginning of a new chapter, but the next installment in a favorite series, we'll say...
i'm anxious... yet excited to see what happens.

ReplyDeleteIt has been an absolute pleasure following this blog. Thank you for putting 365 little pieces of yourself and your world up here for everyone. (Having dropped out somewhere around day 60 myself I admire your tenacity!)
I will definitely continue to look if you continue to post elsewhere, you have created some truly beautiful work and thank you for sharing it with us.
Definitely an awesome photo to end with. I took one and was going to post it, but then I'd be the last photo and I definitely did not want my last minute photo to be at the top.. possibly forever. I'll be checking the other blog daily as I do now, and I still want to work on that photo project sometime if you're up for it!
