I've been scarce. I'm sorry. I've got a lot going on. My hubby is currently off in the woods of North Carolina with a bunch of high schoolers and my mom is visiting. Today, we took Sierra to the
Graves Mountain Apple Harvest Festival. It was awesome! I had funnel cake! And there were lots of fruits there: pumpkins and apples and corn and whatnot, but I'm going to be the second person today to post a picture of a gourd because they are so funky looking and I love all the colors.

Did you know that a fruit with a hard shell like these (and cucumber, pumpkin, squash, and melons) is called a pepo? Such a fun little word. And they are all part of the same plant family, the
Cucurbitaceae? Well, now ya know!
